Accenture Song completed its acquisition of Whalar Group, a London-founded creator and social agency managing roughly 1,500 professional influencers across 120 markets. Terms remain undisclosed. The deal consolidates Whalar's platform technology, talent roster, and brand relationships inside Accenture's creative consultancy arm, which already serves 75 of the Fortune 100.

Whalar built its business managing end-to-end creator campaigns for clients including Nike, Google, and Unilever. Its platform handles creator discovery, contract negotiation, content production oversight, and performance measurement. The company operates 10 offices globally and employs approximately 350 people, most of whom will transfer to Accenture Song's Experience Design practice. Whalar Group CEO Neil Waller will report directly to Accenture Song's Global Lead, David Droga, who joined Accenture in 2021 when the firm acquired his agency Droga5 for a reported $475M.

This matters because consulting firms are moving beyond advisory work into operational control of marketing execution. Accenture now owns creator relationships that previously sat with independent agencies or talent management firms. For luxury and premium brands spending 15-25% of digital budgets on influencer partnerships, the supplier landscape just simplified. One contract with Accenture Song can now deliver strategy, creative development, media planning, and creator activation across 120 markets. That consolidation reduces coordination friction but also concentrates power. The same firm auditing your marketing spend now controls access to the creators who deliver it.

The acquisition signals two shifts allocators should track. First, influencer marketing is leaving the experimental bucket. Global spend reached $24B in 2023, according to Influencer Marketing Hub, and is growing at roughly 18% annually while traditional digital display grows at 8%. Whalar's platform data becomes a competitive moat for Accenture when pitching integrated campaigns. Second, the deal continues Accenture's strategy of buying specialized creative capabilities rather than building them. Since 2019, the firm has acquired more than 20 agencies, including Droga5, Rothco, and MXM. The pattern: identify a high-margin creative discipline, buy the best independent player before it scales too far, integrate it into the consulting sales engine.

Operators should watch three developments over the next 6-9 months. Accenture will likely rebrand Whalar's platform as part of its proprietary marketing technology suite, similar to how it absorbed Droga5's tools. Competing agencies that referred work to Whalar now face a conflict: the platform is owned by their largest consulting competitor. Some will build in-house creator capabilities; others will partner with smaller independents like Billion Dollar Boy or Obviously. Finally, expect Accenture to announce a major luxury or automotive client win powered by Whalar's creator network before mid-2025. The firm needs a flagship case study to justify the acquisition multiple to shareholders.

Accenture Song now manages more professional creator relationships than any independent agency. The firm's 2024 revenue exceeded $68B, with the Experience pillar contributing roughly $15B. Whalar's contribution rounds to immaterial at the parent level, but the strategic value lies in cross-sell: every consulting engagement now includes a credible influencer play.

The takeaway
Accenture consolidates **1,500** creators into its consulting stack, forcing competing agencies to build or partner around influencer access.

Your next customer won't visit your website. Their AI will.
AI assistants have quietly taken over the first step of buying — they answer from catalogs they can read and shortlist whoever can actually ship. Two questions now decide whether you exist to that buyer: can a machine read your catalog, and can you fulfill the order. Most brands fail one or both and never find out why the orders went elsewhere. The winners of this shift aren't the loudest. They're the most readable. Build for the machine that's about to do the shopping.

Built by the craft floor — apparel, media, packaging, and secure print.
This trade runs on hands, not desks. Imprint manufacturing & Komori Press · Canon high-speed secure-media operations is a craft floor — genuine Six Sigma discipline applied to ink, thread, foil, and registration, where a hundredth of an inch is the difference between a brand that reads serious and one that reads cheap. POPS4 is built by exactly those operators: independent, boots-on-the-ground engineers who carry their own book, read a client in microseconds, and put their name on every run. Beyond our own Virginia Beach floor, we work with a vetted network of craft manufacturers across the US — each meeting the highest excellence in QC standards in the industry, each a specialist in its own discipline — so apparel, hard-goods imprinting, media manufacturing, packaging, and secure printing all go to the bench built for them, coordinated from one accountable hub. Short-run from twenty-five units, volume to five hundred thousand. Two hundred authorized national brands, seventy thousand SKUs with virtual proofing on every one. Art archived for instant reorders. Net-thirty corporate terms, NDA-standard white-label — your name on the work, or none at all.
